El Tony Selected Session:Birdhouse

El Tony Mate brought his Selected Sessions concept to Basel and transformed the pop-up fondue chalet Hafechäs - one of the city's most charming and unexpected settings - into an intimate celebration of electronic music culture. Sofia Kourtesis and Sebastian Konrad were responsible for the musical part.

Sofia Kourtesis - producer, vocalist and DJ - comes from Lima, Peru, and has lived in Berlin for many years. Between South American warmth and Berlin club culture, she has developed a sound that is both personal and political. With her debut album "Madres", she established herself as one of the most touching voices in electronic music - and with her recently released DJ Kicks compilation on !K7, she has once again proven that she is one of the most important curators of her genre. On stage, she is pure energy: hypnotic rhythms, vibrating percussion and a warmth that brings rooms like the Hafechäs to life.

Sebastian Konrad has his home base in Basel and is therefore a real local hero on this evening. In recent years, the Swiss DJ and producer has blossomed from an insider tip to an internationally sought-after act. His sound moves between house and tech house, always with a fine feel for the moment. What began in the Basel nightlife scene, he now takes to floors far beyond Switzerland's borders.
